Given that I can't afford either health care or the work provided insurance at the moment...

Seriously. When I quit smoking in January, I realized the money saved would allow me to buy in to Derby's insurance. Problem being that since January, prices have inflated to a point where I'm just as bad off as when I was still smoking. So, I'm left with the option of getting insurance that has a deductable so high it isn't worth getting or racking up ER bills every time something severe or chronic enough gets through my tolerance levels.

So, to answer the actual question, health care is a right to me, but one that must be used responsibly. In other words, It's not a right I'm inclined to use for something I'd consider minor.

No such thing! Don't forget about car accidents or other unforeseen circumstances. Even a 1K deductible is better than a 50K hospital bill.

This is also very true. I'd also love to be able to go see a real doctor and make sure my Blood sugar is as under control as I like to think it is. Just can't remember if open enrollment is October or December these days.
