Other than reformatting after grabbing this from here, I have not edited this letter.

Here's the game. Can you figure out why this guy is not getting my vote? (Hint: it has nothing to do with the issue he's talking about, and nothing to do with his party affiliation.)

Find alternatives to paying toll

No to toll roads. Toll roads are not the answer. If toll roads are implemented the public will suffer, as usual. For instance, we already pay federal and state taxes on every gallon of gas and diesel. Add toll roads that's double taxation. Even if you don't drive, everything we consume is delivered by truck. Thus the cost of transporting goods will be passed on to the consumer. That's triple taxation. Some possible remedies are:

1. Do a better job of fighting for federal gas tax dollars.

2. Stop using transportation dollars for new buildings and vehicles. Work with what you have like non-government entities have to do.

3. Look into turning lesser county roads back to cheaper gravel roads which work just as good. We can fund our highways and roads without toll roads.

Teddy Fleck, Libertarian candidate for Lt. Governor, Springfield

Because of bad grammar?

And here I thought it may be the whole fuck you if you don't have a car theme.

Well, there is that, but I find it horribly amusing that a candidate for state office made a 1st grade grammatical error in a public forum. Almost as disheartening as listening to Dubya mangling the Queen's English. If we're going to try to make english the official language, shouldn't we at least make sure our Glorious Leader can speak it first?

I generally have lower expectation on the intelligence of politicians, because, well, they are politicians.

This is true.

My fave poli moment came when mom introduced me to the new mayor of Urbana. Who even in normal conversation conversed in double speak, innuendo, and vaguaries to the point I had no idea what the hell she was trying to say.

ROFL I missed the bad addition skills, but I'm sure someone will point it out.

And yes, gravel roads are a dumb idea. Particularly given how wet the weather is out here most of the time. I'm not sure why, but we get some of the least intelligent politicians down this way.

He sounds like he has no clue what he's really talking about. He has no clue about the facts on this issue. I can see flaws in hios suggestions and I haven't done any research on them. What an idiot.

We like our politicians stupid down here. I can't wait for everyone to get exposed to Matt Blunt when he runs for Veep under McCain.

I was focusing more on the issue...not as much on grammar or spelling.

As a libertarian you would think he would be for the toll roads and against the taxes.

I'm under the impression he's an idiot, regardless. Particularly since the toll roads are being used a s boogie man at current to distract us from other, more pressing state issues;)
