More like what am I not reading?
I'm in the middle of Winds of Fury by Mercedes Lackey (mind candy), Dead Sea by Brian Keene (think Dawn of the Dead on a Civil War era ship), and Who Let the Dogs In by Molly Ivans (since it's a collection of essays, it makes for great before bed reading).
Reading has been a great gift to me. I can't imagine NOT reading. Reading keeps my brain moving rather than vegetative the way TV affects me. Mainly because I have to create the image rather than having it presented to me.
Recommendations?
Oh hell.
I keep telling everyone I know to read The gumshoe, The witch, and the Virtual Corpse and The Gumshoe Gorilla by Keith Hartman. Sci-Fi mystery noir with some really potent messages.
Dead Sea by Brian Keene. Main character is a black gay man with a shotgun.
The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls by Lois McMasters Bujold. Two of the most intelligent fantasy novels I've ever read.
Bone Song by John Meaney. took me a while to get into it, but damn... Futuristic mystery involving a city run on the energy of the dead.
Leslie Meier's Murder mysteries. Short, sweet, and lots of fun.
Cleo Coyle's Coffeehouse mysteries. Also guaranteed to make you hungry.
Charlaine Harris. Any series.
Jim Butcher. Either series.
Kim Harrison. All good.
Uhm I'll probably come up with more at work:(
