Since I keep getting asked by people...

This is when I knew I was different from other boys. The plot is similar to any of the other Hardy Boys mysteries, but the cover of this one was quite the eye opener while I was growing up. There's another pic in Sky Sabatoge (also by Franklin W. Dixon) that involves a nearly shirtless scetch of Joe Hardy tied to a tree while two burly men torture him. I must admit, I am rather surprised no groups have ever condemned The Hardy Boys for featuring gay pornography.
Anyway, I have to get ready for work here soon. I hope everyone has a good day and I'll post more tonight when I'm awake.

SO, um...are you saying that upon reading this book, you realized that you were gay...or are you saying that the cover of this book made you realize that you were gay? I know, I know, but I have no idea what you actually mean to say.

If I'm not mistaken all of the Hardy Boys books are "by Franklin W. Dixon." That doesn't actually mean they were all written by the same person, there were multiple authors, they just used the same pseudonym for all of them. Ditto with Nancy Drew. As much as I enjoyed reading them when I was a kid, in retrospect their writing style is the closest literary equivalent of paint-by-numbers.

Wonder if anyone has every written any incestuous Hardy Boys slash . . . or some where they get a little more than friendly with their old chum Chet? Hmmm . . . a quick Google . . . seems like most of the Hardy Boys slash out there refers to the WWE (formerly WWF) wrestlers, rather than the boy detectives. It's got to be out there, though . . . . heh, there's even a page called "Gangrel Spawn's Hardy Boys Estrogen Brigade." God I love the Internet.

I completely understand what u mean. It's funny how you forget all the quirks of your childhood. I just scoured the internet trying to look at the covers. I am completely intrigued now. I noticed that they always have the guys touching each other. And there is often a bit of strange placemnet/positions.
