I saw bits and pieces of this on the news. Then I came home wand watched the full thing and laughed my ass off. So Happy Hanukkah everyone:)

Ok, as of right now, the video is wrong, but the article underneath quotes me.

Yes, the video is a fake. But it's really funny.

I still have to laugh. Mom tells me she was screaming "Get back in!" at the television the entire time.

And I still wonder why we never colonized the damn thing. I'd love to live there.

In my last voice post, I sang a number from Les Miserables. I found a better version on YouTube, which should provide how it SHOULD sound.
On My Own )
Speaking of Les Misrables, "Bring Him Home" is a reason I loathe tenors. I love the song, I can hit most of the notes, but when he hits the end, he goes way the hell out of my range.
Bring Him Home )
And this is the best version I could find. But it was and still occasionally remains my theme song.
I Cain't Say No )

Think we've all been here.

And since we're pn the subject of songs that get stuck in your mind...

gangrel_pri: (Default)
Oh yeah, I know why. Landlady and her friend Patty were watching QVC last night.

While I don't have time to give you the response you deserve for your comment last night (It's a good comment and deserves a better reply than what I can come up with right after waking up), let me instead respond in kind to your post today:P

I have a song in my head that you tube won't let me enbed.

lyrics )
Another song in my head, this time with ebeddening )

For the former, I've always liked TLC, with the exceptions of "Waterfalls" and "No scrubs". (Those I dislike mainly due to overplaying at release. Kind of like Goo Goo dolls' "Name", I heard them way too often.) It's odd, since I'm normally not an R&B person, but I always kind of like them. Anyway, T-Boz wrote a song fro FanMail called "Unpretty" which has always resonated with me. Maybe just because I've spent most of my life feeling unattractive.

The second is "Better Days" by the Goo Goo Dolls. Again, a good song by a band I generally don't like much. I mean, I like a few songs by them, but they'll be forever judged by "Name", which was played on every fucking station in Dayton for months. Not to mention MTV and Vh1.

I'd post "Everything" by Lifehouse here too, but a) it make me cry when I hear it b) YouTube only has homemade videos of it, and c) I'm trying not to go overboard with YouTube posts like I normally do.

Jeff, Ra'Shel and I were discussing concerts we'd been to last night. I think I shocked Jeff when I mentioned I've see Lush live.

I love Lush. Even if I haven't really thought about them in years. So, here's the video for "Ladykillers", which is probably the one song people would know.

Since LJ feels inclined to ask insipid questions, I figured I'd get in on the act.

Pick a song or a few songs that bring back positive memories for you. What are the songs and what good memories do you associate with them?

I'll start.

Prince never made a video for this song, so this is the best I could find. The reason it stays in my mind was a rather alcohol induced sing along with [ profile] diffusedglow and [ profile] adagiogray, as well as his roommate, whom they were trying to set me up with. I still laugh at the rather vivid image of all of us funking out to a song about something a majority of us don't want anything to do with.

Many years ago, [ profile] stewicked, [ profile] iamwhatisayiam, and I joined my brother and sister-in-law to see Faster Pussycat, Winger, Cinderella, and Poison. I could go back and look for my LJ of the event, but... Anyway, the highlight for me was my brother doing the dance for this song when Kip launched into it at the end of the set. It was funny and embarrassing at the same time. It was also one of the few times I've seen my brother having a good time in recent memory.

Here's the trailer for the new Michael Bay version of Friday the 13th. Rumor has it that it's supposed to be what Part 3 should have been, although that still looks like a damn hockey mask.

As usual

A trip to YouTube leads to multiple postings of videos.

So, The first video I remember ever seeing on MTV )
And because [ profile] terpsichord brought it up...
Moar Berlin )
and just because everyone should admire Mike Reno's ass on occasion... )
And Heaven is the home of our hearts. )

Ok, I'll stop now.
